Comments:   The Lammas ritual was fantastic this year.  We all showed up under the magical boughs of the Lichgate Oak to honor the harvest sacrifice, we played funeral games and made corn-dollies.

***** August 3, 2010, 7:30 PM Public Meeting of the Church of the May Oak at Panera Bread.  The May Oak is a local Wiccan Church, affiliated with the Aquarian Tabernacle.  The monthly meeting is held at Panera Bread Company and Park Ave.  First Tuesday of each month.
 

August 3, 2010; 6:30pm – 7:15pm - Open Heart Meditation - Discover deeper layers of your heart and love... If you feel that you may have any negative emotions in your heart, that you may want the Love and Light to cleanse, so that your heart can feel more peace, love, joy, happiness and other sweet feelings then this is the place for you to come relax and let go.  First Tuesday & Last Thursday of each month. 
 

August 6, 2010, 6:00pm - 9:00pm - First Friday Gallery Hop - Railroad Square.  COME GET A TAROT READING or REIKI HEALING for a donation.  Join thousands of locals for FF where most of the shops and studios are open for this lively event. Live music is played at several locations throughout the Park.  Some of the galleries offer refreshments and hors d'oeuvres. Larger galleries may feature exhibits from a variety of artists while smaller ones display their own new works.

Witches' Ball - October 2, 2010 - 8:00pm - 12:30am.  The Witches’ Ball is the major annual fundraiser for the RHPC, and a portion of the proceeds are donated to help the animals at The Tallahassee Museum.  This year our musical guests are Bedhead Betty.  The theme is Age of the Vampires:  From Transylvania to Fangtasia.    Buy tickets at Athena’s Garden, Crystal Connection or online at www.redhillspagans.org

 

Florida Pagan Gathering – November 4, 2010 – November 7, 2010.  Join   Diana Paxson, T Thorn Coyle, Ann Moura, Pete Pathfinder Davis, Grandmother Elspeth and Nybor, Margot Adler and other popular authors and musicians for some time in the woods of Camp Ocala.  FPG usually has at least 500 people in attendance, with dozens of workshops, musicians, vendors and other events.  Check out www.flapagan.org

The NORTH BY SOUTHWEST: Native American Art from the Collection of I.S.K. Reeves V & Sara W. Reeves exhibit will be on display at The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science April 17, 2010 – September 19, 2010. Over 130 Native American art objects and artifacts, dating from the mid 19th to the early 20th centuries, will be on view from three large regional areas: The North, primarily that of the Inuit and the cultures of the Northwest Coast; the Plains Region with its diversified tribal entities; and the Southwest, consisting of the many Pueblos as well as the Navajo (Diné) and the Apache.

Archaeology Lab Tours at Mission San Luis; BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND: Take a behind-the-scenes tour and learn about the 17th-century Spanish and Apalachee residents through archaeological evidence. The tours are led by the historical site’s archaeologists who did the field excavations.

Saturdays - 9:00 am - 10:30 am Chen Style Taiji with Alannah Chen Taiji in Tallahassee, the original style of the ancient Chinese art of Taiji. Regular practice improves muscle tone, promotes relaxation, sharpens mental focus, calms the emotions, and raises energy levels. Our class includes meditation, silk reeling exercises, qigong, the new frame long form and related studies. Although Chen style Taiji can take a lifetime to truly understand and master, the techniques are suitable for practitioners of all skill levels. The Tallahassee Buddhist Community is at 647 McDonnell Drive in Railroad Square.
